On November 9th 2023, the DG BCD Mr. Mula Anthony hosted H.E Antonio Querido the UN-FAO Country Representative to Uganda and held cordial exchanges on addressing Poverty and socioeconomic transformation of Uganda.
During the meeting, Mr. Mula introduced the BCD and the BDA to H.E Antonio Querido with the view of attracting his interest to partner and support the BCD transformation efforts for Busoga over the next 10 years.
He also briefed him about the offing cooperation between BCD & China Agricultural University that will involve cooperation areas like setting up a model agricultural village in Busoga for Maize and Soya beans, study exchange programs, research programs, etc.
Through the exchanges held, it was resolved as follows;
- H.E Antonio Querido to attend the signing ceremony for the establishment of cooperation between BCD and China Agricultural University planned for November 24th, 2023.
- UN-FAO Uganda, working with NARO to support BCD in the development of Mother Gardens of Cassava and Beans in identified areas around Busoga.
- UN-FAO Uganda to support the offing cooperation between BCD & China Agricultural University.
- Need for the DG BCD to meet the UN-FAO Coordinator of the China Uganda South to South Cooperation program to initiate cooperation between the two institutions with a view of attracting agricultural transformation projects to spur the timely actualization of the BDA aspirations.
