A group of young people from Busoga are currently participating in a specialized training program on Public Service and Poverty Reduction for Developing Countries, taking place in China from 4th to 17th September 2025.
The program is organized by the International Poverty Reduction Center in China (IPRCC) and seeks to empower participants with practical knowledge and innovative approaches to poverty eradication, governance, and sustainable development.
Among Uganda’s first delegation are representatives from the Busoga Consortium for Development, who embody the spirit of grassroots leadership and community transformation. They include:
- Sulaiman Amisi – CEO, Mashaiga Model Village, Mayuge District
- Kalagala Aron – Production Officer, Mashaiga Village, Mayuge District
- Mutemo Robert – Deputy Director & Community Mobilizer
- Wanyana Waliyah Nazifah -Entrepreneurship and Pastor
- Odong Brain – Tourism Operator, Jinja
Their participation is part of the Busoga Consortium’s broader efforts to equip young entrepreneurs and local leaders with knowledge, skills, and international exposure that will accelerate community transformation in Uganda.
This training follows the Busoga Consortium’s continued collaboration with the Government of China in advancing people-centered development, agricultural transformation, and poverty reduction initiatives.
The Consortium remains committed to creating opportunities for young leaders who will drive the vision of a prosperous, self-reliant, and empowered Busoga and Uganda at large.
