
Three representatives from Busoga Namely; Head of the Royal Chiefs, Isabalangila Samuel Zilabamuzale Nkuntu, Mr. Wagose Paul, Agriculture Officer of Kamuli District; and Mr. Dembe Daniel, Agriculture Officer of Namayingo District—are currently participating in a high-level international training Seminar on Rural Revitalization for BRI Countries.
The seminar, organized by the International Economic Cooperation Center of Fujian Province in Fuzhou City, Fujian Province, China, runs from October 11th to October 31st, 2025. It focuses on Characteristic Rural Development and Sustainable Grassroots Poverty Alleviation, highlighting China’s outstanding achievements and innovative methods in lifting millions out of poverty.

Participants are also learning about the integration of entrepreneurship in poverty alleviation to improve livelihoods and promote sustainable development.
This training forms part of the ongoing China–Busoga Consortium Cooperation, a partnership that has provided numerous young leaders and professionals from Busoga with opportunities to train and benchmark in China.
The initiative seeks to impart practical knowledge and skills that can enhance rural community transformation and local development in Busoga.
Through this collaboration, participants have gained valuable exposure to modern agricultural technologies, rural transformation models, and community-driven poverty alleviation strategies that have propelled China’s success. Upon completion, all delegates will be awarded certificates in recognition of their participation and newly acquired expertise.
The Busoga Consortium for Development, in partnership with the Chinese Embassy in Uganda, continues to facilitate and support such training programs, reaffirming its commitment to empowering local leaders with the tools and knowledge needed to achieve a socially and economically transformed Busoga.
