During the engagement, Mr. Mula officially revealed that the Soya Milk School Feeding Project will commence as schools open for the 2026 academic year in the selected VAM villages. The initiative aims to improve nutrition and overall health among school-going children through locally produced, nutritious soya milk.
He further announced that a selected team of leaders will travel to Morogoro, Tanzania, for specialized training on soya milk processing. The training is organized by China Agricultural University in partnership with the Busoga Consortium and is intended to equip participants with practical skills that will enable schools to sustainably feed learners.
The Director General emphasized the importance of commitment and attentiveness during the training, urging the team to fully grasp the skills so that they can effectively train others upon their return, ensuring knowledge transfer and project sustainability.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Kayemba Jonah, Deputy Head of Planning at the Busoga Consortium, encouraged the selected participants to seize the opportunity, noting that “opportunity meets a prepared person.” He congratulated the team and urged them to embrace the training wholeheartedly, stressing that preparedness and commitment are key to winning and sustaining development initiatives.
