A delegation from Sichuan Province, China, led by Mr. Liu Tong, Director General of the Sichuan Seed Association, paid a courtesy visit to Deputy principal private secretary to vice president of uganda Mr. Vincent Musubire to advance agricultural and industrial collaborations.
Director General Mula Anthony of the Busoga Consortium introduced the delegation, facilitating an impactful dialogue on advancing Uganda’s agricultural productions.
The meeting, chaired by Mr. Musubire Vincent highlighted mutual efforts to strengthen ties and foster agricultural development between the two regions especially on growing Chili.
Mr. Musubire extended a warm welcome to the delegation, conveying greetings from Uganda’s Vice President and expressing appreciation for their visit during the festive season.
He emphasized the pivotal role of the China-Uganda Agricultural Industrial Park in driving Uganda’s economic growth and strengthening bilateral ties.
During the visit, Mr. Liu Tong and his team toured the China-Uganda Agriculture Park and other industrial facilities, observing significant progress in the partnership.

• Seed Variety Success: Mr. Liu commended the remarkable performance of Sichuan seed varieties in the Agriculture Park, which have shown great potential to boost Uganda’s agricultural output.
• Introduction of New Varieties: Under the guidance of the Sichuan Provincial Government, the delegation pledged to introduce more seed varieties, aiming to enhance agricultural innovation and knowledge-sharing in Uganda.
• Commitment to Research: Mr. Liu emphasized plans to invest in joint research to develop new seed varieties tailored to Uganda’s needs, improving productivity and resilience in the agriculture sector.
The collaboration promises to elevate Uganda’s agricultural and industrial sectors, offering sustainable solutions to key challenges. The meeting underscored the shared commitment of both regions to development and innovation, positioning the partnership as a cornerstone of progress in Uganda.
The strengthened partnership between Sichuan Province and Uganda is to boost exporting of Chili to China so as to empower international collaboration in achieving sustainable development.
