The Kyabazinga of Busoga Kingdom His Majetsy William Gabula Nadiope IV has rallied Shenyang Polytechnic College for Collaboration with 5 (five) Vocational Institutions of Busoga in skills development.
Kyabazinga made the remarks on a Zoom meeting during the signing ceremony for establishment of cooperation between 5 Busoga Vocational training institutes with Shenyang Polytechnic College held in Shenyang City, China on Tuesday 19th November 2024.
The collaboration is a fruit of the July 2024 recent visit to Shenyang City of China by His Majesty, during which several educational institutions and corporations were mobilized to partner with the Busoga leadership to steer social economic transformation.
The cooperation agreement was signed during the visit of Dr. Mula Anthony Director General Busoga Consortium for Development to Shenyang Polytechnic College on Tuesday 19th November 2024. He was received by Mr. Li , the Party Secretary and President of Shenyang Polytechnic College, together with the College Vice President, Mr. Lyu Yiming.
Mr. Lyu Yiming signed the cooperation agreement on behalf of Shenyang Polytechnic College.
The said Vocational institutes include Busoga International Polytechnic in Jinja City , Basoga Nsadhu Technical Institut In Mayuge diatrict, Nkoko Memorial Technical Institute in Mayuge , Nawanyago Technical Institute and Bupadengo Technical Institute in Kamuli district.
During his remarks, Mula noted that the signed agreement was a great milestone towards addressing the unemployment and innovation among the young people of Busoga as efforts are made to steer Busoga to prosperity. He appreciated the Shenyang City People’s Government for facilitating the cooperation as part of the framework for the cooperation between Jinja City and Shenyang City.
Mr Lyu Yiming Vice President Shenyang Polytechnic College introduced the college as the No. 1 electric and mechanical assessment Institute in China. He further described the college as a national model higher Vocational college and a construction unit of high-level professionals in China. It hosts some of the best modern apprenticeship pilot units of the Ministry of Education and is one of the top 50 internship management and teaching resources in China.
He stated that the established cooperation would enable Uganda youth to visit the college and receive specialised technical training in production and assembling of BMW cars and air crafts. He said that Uganda students will be required to have a minimum of Higher Secondary education certificate to qualify for admission at the college.
Mula noted that the agreement will be valid for a period of 3 years from the date of signature.
