Busiki Fc Are 2023 Mtn Busoga Masaza Cup Champions

On the memorable date of December 30th, 2023, at the iconic   Kakindu Stadium, Busiki FC secured a historic victory in the 2023 MTN Busoga Masaza Cup. The grand finale reached its apex as Busiki beat Butembe 1-0 in the second half of the final captivating the crowd.

The final was graced by the Kyabazinga of Busoga H.R.H William Gabula Nadiope IV. He was welcomed at Kakindu Stadium by the Busoga Kingdom’s Prime Minster, Owek. Dr. Muvawala Joseph, and a distinguished lineup of attendees, including the Kingdom’s 2nd Deputy Prime Minister, Owek. Alhaj Osman Ahmed Noor, Busiki Chief Yololemu Nabongo, Butembe Chief Dr Fredrick Walugembe, and Busoga Kingdom’s Sports Minister Amin Bbosa.

After his arrival, the kyabazinga was taken on a guided majestic circuit around the pitch amidst fervent cheers by the multitude of spectators.

The tournament was sponsored by MTN Uganda, Haojue Motorcycles Uganda Ltd, Kansai Plascon, and Nile Breweries Ltd.

The highly competitive finale witnessed a fiercely contested first half with both teams squandering scoring opportunities.

During the halftime interval, the Kyabazinga bestowed accolades upon the four sponsors, with MTN Uganda receiving a prestigious Platinum award, Nile Breweries Ltd earning Silver, Haojue Motorcycles Uganda claiming Bronze, and Baba TV recognized as the Media partner.

The match unfolded in the second half when Ismail Ndifuna unleashed a sublime goal into the top corner of the net, evading Butembe FC’s goalkeeper Kadama Peter. At this moment, it was 1:0 in favour of Busiki.

This exhilarating moment sparked celebrations among Busiki supporters, including notables such as Namutumba district woman Member of Parliament Naigaga Mariam and Busiki County MP Paul Akamba.

With unwavering determination, Busiki FC maintained their lead until the final whistle, securing not only the championship but also a gleaming trophy, gold medals, and a substantial cash prize of 12,000,000/-. The Kyabazinga personally presented these accolades to the triumphant team, solidifying their place in Busoga’s football history.

 

Butembe FC, valiant in their effort, claimed the runner-up position, earning silver medals and a commendable 8,000,000/-. While Kigulu securing the third spot, embraced bronze medals and a cash reward of 6,000,000/-.

Bugabula FC, finishing fourth, was awarded 4,000,000/- for their commendable participation.

The tournament’s highest goal-scorer, Sharif Amuke of Bukono FC, was honoured with a brand-new motorcycle from Haojue Motorcycles Uganda. This prestigious award was presented by Busoga Kingdom’s second deputy Prime Minister, Owek. Alhaj Osman Ahmed Noor.

The grandeur of the final game was enhanced by the presence of hereditary chiefs from Busoga, led by Issabalangira of Busoga Samuel Zirabamuzale Nkuutu Menhya of Bugweri chiefdom, Busoga Lukiiko Speaker George Mutyabule, and numerous ministers and officials from the sponsoring companies.

Together, they contributed to the unparalleled spectacle that marked the culmination of the 2023 MTN Busoga Masaza Cup, leaving an indelible imprint on the region’s sporting legacy.
