Resolutions of the Ministerial Coordination Committee Meeting of the Busoga Consortium for Development on the Issues of Busoga University.

  1. The task force committee of the University to develop a detailed roadmap to be shared with the MCC to fast track the opening up of the University.
  2. Task force to generate a report on matters relating to the University land for submission to the 3rd DPM to enable her engage the Minister of lands to assist in the process of transfer of the same to Central Government as one of the prerequisites for the grant of the Charter.
  3. Taskforce to provide a weekly update to the 3rd Deputy minister on the progress of implementation on the roadmap.
  4. Task force to review courses submitted to the National council for higher Education to address the available challenges and the interests of sub-region.
  5. Taskforce to closely collaborate with National Council for higher Education to fast track the accreditation process of the selected Courses
  6. Rt.Hon.R.A. Kadaga to write to the president on the matter of pending liabilities of the Six Billion for the former university workers and sundry arrears.
  7. The conflict about the University land in Iganga municipality should not hinder transfer of other plots to Government however it was resolved that it shall be handled after the university is established so as not derail other process.
  8. On the issue of ensuring the budget inclusion of UGX.60 bln in the 2023/24 financial year, the Rt.Hon. Rukia Nakadama the chairperson of ministerial coordination committee tasked to rally stakeholders both in Cabinet and parliament to mobilize them for the budgetary allocation to ensure so that the University shall be able to commence by 1st July 2024 as programmed.
  9. Rt.Hon. Kadaga to engage local authorities to tackle the issue of land encroachment on the university land found in Kamuli District.
